Development Network (AKDN) institutions in Central and South Asia, enabling them to effectively implement risk-reduction measures across the region. The core goals included:
- Conducting seismic risk assessments
- Reducing disaster risk through targeted mitigation measures
- Strengthening institutional emergency response capacities
The Consultant’s scope of services covered the preparation of feasibility studies and the provision of technical assistance for the retrofitting and rehabilitation of 256 priority AKDN structures located in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan. This included developing detailed retrofitting designs for all buildings deemed technically feasible within the contractual framework.
Key services delivered by VestA for each building included:
- Preparation of structural retrofitting designs and complete architectural renovation designs for selected intervention options
- Preparation of full MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and non-structural component designs
Development of Bills of Quantities (BoQs), cost estimates, bidding documents, technical specifications, and detailed drawings
