The outputs of this consultancy included:

  • Assessing the capacity of the private sector to support the implementation of the AKAH GHG Policy and integrating carbon-efficient operations and climate change resilience into AKAH’s major programs, including construction, habitat planning, and development programs (WASH, Integrated Solid Waste Management, etc.) in the context of Afghanistan.
  • Developing processes and guidelines for green development and climate change mitigation and adaptation within AKAH’s Habitat Planning, Safe & Resilient Construction, and Development programs.
  • Developing an implementation program comprising projects, activities, and initiatives tailored to Afghanistan’s context, ensuring engagement of communities and institutions.
  • Creating a Carbon-Efficient and Green Guideline and Implementation Manual based on international best practices, providing clear actions, tools, templates, and processes for planning, design, construction, operation & maintenance, as well as offsetting and retrofitting/upgrading existing buildings and other AKAH development programs.
