Description :

Based on JICA master plan, the project Kabul New City was planned in two implementation periods of 15 years each. In this assignment, the objective was to review the plan for New Kabul City according to the Climate Smartness, and Affordability principles. The major outputs were:

  • Re- design land use and detail plans of the NKC area based on the best practices (European and American standard) and findings of the habitat assessment (inclusive of natural hazards assessment (geo hazard, hydro) & fire based on modellings and remote hazard assessment).
  • Provide alternative detail design for 4 major areas/corridors
  • Environmental and social impact assessment of the NKC
  • implementation strategy and investment plans of the NKC.
