Description:

During this project, the following services were provided:

– Conducting Rapid Visual Assessment (RVA) of 3252 public facilities, including schools, hospitals, universities, fire stations, and police stations, encompassing 5,382,000 sqm, and submitting complete reports on the findings of all the buildings and facilities that have been assessed, with a prioritization ranking of each building in terms of vulnerability and risk.

– Conducting Preliminary Engineering Assessment (PEA) for the most critical facilities identified during the RVA with approximately 1 million square meters of built-up area (approximately 600 schools and hospital buildings)

– Conducting Detailed Engineering Assessment (DEA) for the most critical facilities—200 facilities with more than 400,000 sqm of built-up area.

The services that were provided by VestA as a sub-consultant of Protek-Yapi Engineering Co. were as follows:

  • Assisting in the development of methodology for the RVA of critical facilities
  • Development of a GIS-based RVA application
  • Assisting in the development of the methodology of PEA for critical facilities
  • Prioritization of the buildings, considering technical and financial aspects for further intervention actions
  • Detailed engineering analysis of the selected buildings (assisting in structural retrofitting designs and conducting architectural renovation designs for selected options—conducting MEP and non-structural designs)
  • Assisting in the development of a long-term investment plan
  • Assisting in the holding of training and capacity-building sessions
